Heavy-Duty Stage Lifting System with Electric Hoists

Today, our factory carried out an outdoor stage truss installation project for an overseas client. At the customer’s request, the complete stage framework was pre-assembled at our factory before shipment. The client personally visited with their technical team to learn the assembly process and operational procedures on-site.

Our engineering team fully assembled the structure according to the required dimensions and provided live demonstrations, hands-on operation guidance, and technical training throughout the installation process. The truss system shown on-site is a black bolt truss with a durable baked paint finish.
We also manufacture spigot truss systems for different project requirements.

After completing the main framework structure, we continued installing additional truss sections on top of the existing system. The following footage shows our technicians assembling the bolt truss system on-site.

The upper truss sections can be secured using tension straps or double couplers. ⚠️ Important: For temporary installations, tension straps can be used during the setup process. However, for long-term installations or permanent event structures, double couplers must be used to ensure maximum safety and structural reliability. This is a critical safety requirement that should never be overlooked.

Before any lifting operation begins, technicians must carefully verify all technical specifications, structural connections, and load conditions according to standard operating procedures. Once all safety checks are completed and confirmed, the electric hoist system can be powered on for lifting operations.
(The operation and control process of electric hoists will be explained in a separate detailed blog in the future.)

After lifting the structure to approximately one meter in height, technicians began installing the electric hoists. In this section, you can clearly see the installation details and connection methods used for the hoist system.

Once the electric hoists were secured, the structure was lifted further to around 1.5 meters in height, allowing technicians to install the reinforced support bars.

⚠️ Important: This project was assembled as a temporary demonstration structure, so only one support bar was installed between each beam section. For outdoor events, concerts, music festivals, and large-scale live productions, support bars must be installed on both the inner and outer sides of each beam section to provide maximum structural stability and wind resistance.
(We will explain the engineering reasons behind this reinforcement method in a future technical article.)

In the next stage of the lifting process, the truss structure reached approximately half of its final height. At this point, all additional electric hoists and reinforced support bars had already been installed and secured. The structure was then continuously lifted to its full operating height.

The following video segment demonstrates one of the practical applications of the electric hoist system. Electric hoists can be used not only for lifting the main structure, but also for temporarily suspending truss sections, lighting equipment, or additional components at designated positions during the assembly process. This greatly improves installation efficiency and operational safety during large-scale stage construction projects.

The reinforced support bars are fixed to the vertical columns using ring couplers, significantly increasing the stability of both the vertical columns and horizontal beam structures. This reinforcement system also improves the overall rigidity, safety, and structural reliability of the entire stage framework. ⚙️

This project was mainly prepared for an overseas client who visited our factory together with their technical team to learn the assembly process and lifting operation on-site. From the main framework setup to the installation of electric hoists and reinforced support bars, the entire process was carried out step by step according to the actual construction requirements.

Although this was a temporary demonstration setup, many of the installation details, reinforcement methods, and lifting procedures are also commonly used in real outdoor stage projects, concerts, festivals, and large-span event structures.

There are still many details about electric hoist operation, truss reinforcement, and lifting safety that we have not fully covered in this article. In future blogs, we will continue sharing more real project cases, installation methods, and practical experience from our factory and construction site.
