Its dimensions, connections, foundations, expected loads, wind conditions and intended use must all be evaluated during the engineering design process.
Professional Baked-Paint Surface Treatment
The ringlock scaffolding surface is treated with a professional baked-paint process.
The coating creates a clean and uniform finish while helping protect the steel against oxidation, everyday wear and fading. The black finish also blends well into concerts, exhibitions and commercial events where parts of the supporting structure remain visible.
With appropriate engineering design and site protection, the system can be used in a wide range of indoor and outdoor event environments.
Secure Ringlock and Wedge-Pin Connections
The ringlock and wedge-pin connection is one of the system’s most important features.
During assembly, the ledger head is positioned at the rosette on the vertical standard. A wedge pin is then inserted and tightened to secure the connection.
Horizontal ledgers and diagonal braces can be installed in different directions around the rosette. Once correctly connected, the individual components form an integrated three-dimensional structure.
This standardized connection makes installation and dismantling more efficient while supporting flexible structural configurations.
Platforms and Stairways Can Be Integrated
Ringlock scaffolding is more than a supporting frame. Horizontal decks and access stairways can be integrated into the structure to create usable platforms.
Decks provide space for technicians, camera operators, lighting equipment, control consoles or event guests. Stairways connect different levels and provide organized access to elevated areas.

Expand the Platform When More Space Is Needed
One of the most useful characteristics of ringlock scaffolding is its modular design.
If the existing platform is not large enough, additional bays can be connected directly beside it. The structure can be extended in length and width or increased in height according to the venue and its intended function.
The modular principle is similar to assembling building blocks: standardized components are combined according to an engineered plan to create structures of different sizes and shapes.
This flexibility allows the same system to be configured as a grandstand, VIP viewing platform, camera tower, lighting platform or FOH control area.
Although the combination method is straightforward, structures used for public events must be designed, assembled and inspected by qualified professionals.
Flexible Assembly Methods for Tall Structures
Ringlock scaffolding can be assembled from the ground upward, adding one level at a time.
For certain tall structures, an upper section can first be assembled closer to ground level. A crane or electric chain hoist then raises the completed section, allowing workers to add another level underneath.
This process can continue until the system reaches the designed height. The actual assembly method must be determined according to the engineering plan, lifting equipment, venue conditions and safety requirements.

The versatility of ringlock scaffolding can be seen in its practical application at the 2026 VAC Music Festival.
Held on April 18–19, 2026, at Chimelong in Hengqin, Zhuhai, the festival featured three themed stages: the Lotus Stage, Flow Stage and Qin Stage.
Our factory served as a core supplier of the stage structures, ringlock scaffolding systems and construction services. Our team provided integrated support covering customized design, manufacturing, on-site installation and dismantling.
The Lotus main stage reached approximately 36 metres in height and 120 metres in width. Its large scale and distinctive design placed demanding requirements on structural planning, production and construction.
Q355B steel ringlock scaffolding was used for important parts of the main and secondary stage structures, lighting support and background support systems.
FOH Control Towers and Technical Platforms
Ringlock scaffolding was used to build the front-of-house control area opposite the main stage.
The elevated platform provided organized working space for audio mixing consoles, lighting control, VJ systems and other production equipment. Its position gave the technical team a clear view of the stage during the performances.
This type of FOH structure can be customized according to the amount of equipment, required working area, viewing angle and venue layout.
Elevated Camera Platforms
Two elevated camera platforms were installed beside the control area.
Their height provided camera operators with clearer shooting angles while separating the production positions from the main audience area.
Because ringlock scaffolding is modular, the platform dimensions, height and access arrangement can be adapted to different filming and broadcast requirements.
VIP Viewing Areas with a Clear View
The same scaffolding system was also used to create an elevated VIP viewing area.
By adjusting the platform height, deck area and stairway position, the VIP section provided guests with a clear view of the main stage and festival grounds.
This application shows that ringlock scaffolding can support both technical and commercial requirements within the same event.
